“老谢氏”鸡蛋糕起源于清末民初，四川南溪县糕点技师谢松师傅，技艺超群，其子谢九成十五岁随父学艺，子承父业，其技艺更“青出于蓝而胜于蓝”。一九三五年，遵义最大糕点房“裕泰恒”之老板温汉章，专程去南溪聘来九成师傅主持糕点制作，从此谢氏祖傅工艺落户于遵义。九成师傅根据祖传工艺，结合遵义地方特点，将鸡蛋的蛋白蛋黄分别处理，用白碳烤制，制出了蛋糕之上品，但产量低，供不应求，于是独创“拗锅”技艺，即“双面火烤”并调整配方，为蛋糕制作创立了新的里程碑。九成师傅晚年将祖传技艺传授予后人至今。

一九五八年和一九六五年，邓小平两次来遵义视察，在遵义宾馆所品尝的蛋糕就是九成师傅所制作。曾对遵义的领导同志讲：“你们就把你们的豆花面，鸡蛋糕，羊肉粉搞起来，作为地方名小吃，搞出你们小吃的特色来。（根据遵义文史小平同志在遵义）如今的“老谢氏”鸡蛋糕，是宾馆接待各级领导同志的接待佳品。

二00三年“老谢氏”鸡蛋糕在南京路正式生产，当时为一小作坊，随着产品的供不应求，小作坊不断扩大,于二00四年迁至高桥镇高泥村。二00八年六月又迁至董公寺镇交通村新厂房，现已拥有资产100万元。管理干部10人，员工50人。两条现代化生产线。

如今的“老谢氏鸡蛋糕厂，占地2156㎡，其中生产厂房680㎡，办公区304㎡，生活区160㎡，仓储112㎡，绿化区900㎡。建有换鞋室，男女更衣室，消毒间，化验室，二次更衣室等现代设施。并配有产品检验室，化验室，发货室。单在遵义市既有多个代销商。销售网络以遍布全市。“老谢氏”鸡蛋糕以其色泽金黄油亮，小巧玲珑，酥松滋润，香甜可口而闻名遐尔。二00三年获“中国名点”称号后，又先后获得“黔北最佳名优小吃”，“遵义名点”“贵州名点、名小吃”等十多个荣誉称号。是遵义市消费者最放心食品之一。是遵义食品中“采黔北山川之灵气，聚百年工艺之精华”于一体的代表作。
