In 2016, Zhonghuan water achieved an operating revenue of HK $1.942 billion and a net profit of HK $182 million. Shanghai Industry Co., Ltd. was registered in Hong Kong in July 1981. It is a window enterprise of Shanghai municipal government in Hong Kong. At present, it is wholly owned by Shanghai SASAC. In June 1993, the company was renamed as "Shanghai industry (Group) Co., Ltd." (hereinafter referred to as "Shangshi group"). In May 1996, Shanghai Industrial Holding Co., Ltd. (0363.hk, hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai real holding") under Shanghai real estate group was listed in Hong Kong.
