张家港浦项不锈钢有限公司简称ZPSS，公司座落于江苏省张家港市沿江经济开发区。东临上海，西接南京，北倚扬子江，南靠苏州、无锡，交通十分便利。ZPSS成立于1997年2月15日，由韩国POSCO和江苏沙钢集团共同投资建设，是专业生产不锈钢的中外合资企业。

公司第一期冷轧不锈钢工程于1997年4月正式开工，于1999年1月22日竣工投产，共占地面积达12万多平方米。一期工程投资总额为2.16亿美元，设计生产能力为冷轧不锈钢薄板14万吨/年。

为了能够更好地满足用户的需要，改善中国国内不锈钢冷轧产品供不应求的状况，经国家有关部门批准，ZPSS于2001年12月14日增加投资，开始兴建不锈钢冷轧薄板二期工程。二期工程于2002年2月22日开始打桩，3月19日举行开工典礼，整个工程于2003年9月19日全面竣工投产，占地面积增加到了20.8万平方米，使年产冷轧不锈钢薄板生产能力达到了40万吨，产品质量、服务质量均达到世界领先水平。

公司一、二期工程所有设备全部从美国、日本、瑞士等国具有世界领先技术水平的公司进口，生产过程采用国际领先的网络技术控制。通过公司全体员工的共同努力，2003年ZPSS在韩国POSCO海外投资企业排名中拔得头筹，同时公司还被评为江苏省高新技术企业，冷轧不锈钢薄板被评为江苏省高新技术产品。

本着解决POSCO在中国投资的冷轧不锈钢生产企业（ZPSS和青岛浦项不锈钢有限公司）的原材料供应问题及为中国的钢铁事业的发展作贡献的经营理念，同时也是为降低生产成本，提高ZPSS的经济效益，POSCO决定在ZPSS一、二期工程的基础上开展STS一贯制钢所的扩建工程。扩建工程位置在张家港市大新镇沿江公路两侧，距离一、二期工程8Km路程。工程包括不锈钢冶炼、连铸、热轧三大主体工程，设计生产能力为年产热轧不锈钢钢板60万吨。产品主要为300系和400系高附加值的热轧不锈钢。扩建工程于2003年9月8日获得国家批准，核定扩建投资总额为7.44亿美元。投资比例为韩国POSCO占82.5%，江苏沙钢集团占17.5%。2003年10月31日，ZPSS扩建工程指挥本部成立，开始了不锈钢扩建工程的规划、设计工作。在经过19个月的艰苦、紧张施工后，扩建工程于2006年7月31日全面完成了一贯制铁所的建设过程，正式宣告ZPSS从此成为名副其实的一贯制铁所。

ZPSS扩建工程引进了不少国外先进设备与技术。在设备方面，拥有在世界著名钢铁公司为数不多的炉卷轧机，可以高效、快捷地生产出热轧产品，改变以往钢铁公司的传统工艺流程，同时公司自主开发了贯通全公司所有设备的先进网络控制平台，重点开发了ERP、MES等三级网络系统，切实地保障了公司整体资源的优化配置。为了达到环保的目的，扩建工程在建设过程中引进了最先进的设备除尘以及附产物回收系统，改变原有钢铁公司只重视生产效益、而忽视环保利益的弊端，为建设“绿色钢铁”做出自己的贡献。

The expansion project is located on both sides of the riverside highway in Daxin Town, Zhangjiagang City, 8km away from the first and second phase of the project. The project includes three major projects of stainless steel smelting, continuous casting and hot rolling. The designed production capacity is 600000 tons of hot-rolled stainless steel plates per year. The main products are 300 series and 400 series hot-rolled stainless steel with high added value. The expansion project was approved by the state on September 8, 2003, with a total investment of 744 million US dollars. The proportion of investment is 82.5% in POSCO of South Korea and 17.5% in shagang group of Jiangsu. On October 31, 2003, the headquarters of ZPSs expansion project was established, and the planning and design work of stainless steel expansion project was started. After 19 months of hard and intense construction, the expansion project completed the construction process of the Institute on July 31, 2006, officially declaring that ZPSs has become a veritable Institute ever since. ZPSs expansion project has introduced many foreign advanced equipment and technology.
