景德镇陶瓷大学坐落于千年瓷都景德镇，有三个功能齐备、环境优雅、艺术氛围浓厚的校区，占地面积2250亩，是一所办学历史悠久、办学特色鲜明、陶瓷专业学科门类齐全的高等学府。

学校前身为1910年创办的中国陶业学堂，历经1927年江西省立陶业学校、1947年江西省立陶业专科学校的变迁，直至1958年成立本科建制的景德镇陶瓷学院。

在百年办学历程中，学校秉承“弘扬中国陶瓷文化，振兴中国陶瓷工业”的崇高使命，秉持“崇德尚学，陶冶成器”的校训，已建设成为一所以陶瓷工程和艺术设计为特色，工学、文学、管理学、理学、经济学等协调发展的多科性大学。学校设有材料科学与工程学院、设计艺术学院、陶瓷美术学院、机械电子工程学院、工商学院、信息工程学院、人文社科学院、科技艺术学院、继续教育学院、思想政治理论课教学科研部等10个院（部）。

在陶瓷文化学术研究与创新设计方面，学校率先提出“景德镇学”研究，在全国学术界引起很大反响。学校承担了国家文化建设重大出版工程项目——《中华大典·艺术典·陶瓷艺术分典》的编撰任务。2007年6月，学校首次在中国美术馆举办大型“师生陶瓷艺术作品展”，作品展集中了景德镇陶瓷学院老中青三代艺术家的佳作，充分展现了学校在陶瓷艺术教育和陶瓷艺术创作方面取得的突出成就。2009年5月，由学校承办的“中国景德镇陶瓷艺术作品展”在法国巴黎联合国教科文组织总部举办，充分展现了学校艺术创作的整体实力和陶艺作品异彩纷呈的文化现象。2011年11月，以学校教师为主的中国23位当代陶瓷艺术家的作品在法国卢浮宫第17届国际文化非物质文化遗产展上展出，有力地提升了学校的知名度和影响力。2012年5月，学校组织师生陶瓷艺术作品参展中国深圳国际文化产业博览会，受到社会各界的广泛关注和好评。学校与日本、韩国、美国、加拿大、芬兰、俄罗斯、白俄罗斯、乌克兰等国20余所高校建立了合作与交流关系。

It has three campuses with complete functions, elegant environment and strong artistic atmosphere, covering an area of 2250 mu. It is an institution of higher learning with a long history, distinct characteristics and complete disciplines of ceramics. The former of the school is the Chinese ceramics school founded in 1910. It went through the changes of Jiangxi Provincial ceramics school in 1927 and Jiangxi Provincial ceramics college in 1947, until the establishment of Jingdezhen ceramics college with undergraduate system in 1958. In the course of one hundred years' schooling, adhering to the lofty mission of "carrying forward Chinese ceramic culture and revitalizing Chinese ceramic industry", adhering to the motto of "upholding morality and learning, and cultivating into an instrument", the university has been built into a multidisciplinary university characterized by ceramic engineering and art design, with coordinated development of engineering, literature, management, science, economics, etc. The school has 10 schools (departments) including the school of materials science and engineering, the school of design and art, the school of ceramic art, the school of mechanical and electronic engineering, the school of business and industry, the school of information engineering, the school of Humanities and Social Sciences, the school of science and technology and art, the school of continuing education, and the teaching and Research Department of Ideological and political theory.
