天津奥群牧业由海归学者陈华女士于1998年创立（1998年为原广州华源禾牧业有限公司，2002年变更为东营市超群畜牧有限责任公司，2008年变更为天津奥群牧业有限公司）。经过二十年的发展，已经成为国内专门化肉羊核心育种与产区制种专业化公司、中国动物疫病净化创建场、中国国家肉羊核心育种场。

奥群牧业根据全球肉羊发展趋势，利用多年国际合作优势，在澳大利亚2011年肉羊育种成果“澳洲白”发布的当年签约，2012年引种到天津奥群基地。之后利用多年形成的封闭育种体系和扩繁技术，在天津奥群牧业核心育种基地选育扩繁，成为全球靠前的澳洲白大核心种群。
