稳步推进资源开发战略，建立起了稳定的资源供应基地。凌钢拥有保国铁矿和北票永山、建平磷铁矿、凌源红山、宁城怡山、敖汉虞山等6个矿业公司，铁矿资源总储量超过5亿吨，还取得了储量近10亿吨的石灰石矿资源。
