四川南山射钉紧固器材有限公司（以下简称“南山公司”）的前身为国营南山机器厂，后更名为四川南山机器厂，于1977年研发、生产、销售射钉紧固器材，发展成为国内集研发、生产、销售射钉紧固器材系列产品及相关产品品种的国有企业。1995年，原四川南山机器厂与英属维尔京群岛第三机械有限公司组建成立中外合资企业：四川南山射钉紧固器材有限公司。2004年，国营南山机器厂根据国家相关政策将其70%股权转让给重庆长江电工集团，同年8月按国家安排实行政策性关闭破产；2005年，将其25%股权转让给重庆长江电工集团；2006年，将其5%股权转让给长江电工集团；至此，南山公司成为重庆长江电工集团的全资子公司。

南山公司现占地约183亩，拥有工房建筑面积40000㎡，员工700余人。公司拥有近1500台（套）生产、研发设备，八条射钉弹自动化生产线，五条射钉器生产线。其中，射钉弹生产线已具备世界优良水平。具有射钉弹12亿粒、射钉器30万支、射钉5亿粒的年产能；包括射钉弹30余种、射钉300余种、射钉器20余种规格，以火药、瓦斯、气体驱动的各类紧固器材产品。

1991年成立中国兵器工业总公司西南射钉紧固技术研究所。公司拥有58名具有中高级技术职称的射钉紧固器材设计师、工程师，其中享受国家津贴补助专家3名，正高级工程师5名。该中心申请获得国家专利38项，其中：2项发明专利、19项实用新型专利、17项外观专利。
