烟台鲁大机动车驾驶培训学校隶属于鲁东大学，其前身是山东省交通厅下属的山东省交通学校汽训队，成立于1978年，1986年5月由烟台市教育局、烟台市公安局车管所批准，对社会培训驾驶员，2001年3月，根据山东省人民政府令，归并入烟台师范学院。

鲁大驾校是一所车辆类型较多、办学规模较大、课目齐全、培训条件较好的集学生实习教学与地方学员驾驶培训为一体的专业驾驶培训学校。目前，驾校拥有职工107名，教练员92名，其中处级干部1名，科级干部6名；高级工程师2名，工程师5名；高级驾驶员26名，高级修理工25名。各类车辆89辆，其中教练车：大客1辆，大货5辆，富康38辆，赛欧5辆（自动档2辆），华普19辆，优利欧16辆，桑塔纳1辆，办公车4辆。教练场地61420.5平方米（92.13亩），其中混凝土硬化场地1.3万余平方米，场内训练道路1500余米，各种车型训练科目10余项（蝴蝶桩驾驶、通过连续障碍、通过单边桥、直角转弯、侧方位停车、上坡定点停车与坡道起步、限速通过限宽门、百米加减档、起伏路驾驶、曲线行使等）。
