同济大学经济与管理类教育始于1956年，是我国办此类专业教育的高等院校之一。1984年成立经济管理学院，1998年与商学院合并为经济与管理学院。目前，学院汇集了同济大学经济类、管理类的主要学科，设有管理科学与工程系、建设管理与房地产系、工商管理系、会计系、经济与金融系及公共管理系，并在二级学科设有相应的研究所和实验室。

学院现有教职工329人，其中教授64人，副教授77人。设有9个本科专业、14个硕士点、3个一级学科博士点、2个博士后流动站。目前在校本科生1500余人，硕士研究生（包括MBA、EMBA、MPA、ME、MEM、MF、MPAcc专业学位学生）和博士研究生（含DBA）4000余人。建院三十多年来，经济与管理学院培养了数以万计的专业管理人才，在国家经济建设中发挥着重要作用。

国际合作与交流是学院的重要特色和优势之一。学院先后与法国巴黎欧洲商学院、埃塞克高等商学院合作本科生和研究生项目、与英国曼彻斯特大学商学院合作MBA双学位项目、与美国凯斯西储大学合作MBA及金融硕士项目、与法国国立桥路大学合作SIMBA项目、与德国曼海姆大学合作EMBA双学位项目、与印度XLRI及美国凯斯西储合作MBA三学位项目。目前，学院已与15个国家和地区的70多所院校建立了合作关系，在师资交流、科研合作、学生互换等领域建立了广泛的国际交流。
