北京吉利学院（原北京吉利大学）是国家教育部批准的普通本科高校，由吉利集团于2000年创办。学校位于北京市中关村昌平园区内，坐落在钟灵毓秀的北京西山山麓东北，风景宜人。学校占地1300亩，建筑面积45万平方米；学校下设汽车工程学院、商学院、人文与设计学院、欧美国际学院、理工学院、艺术学院、应用文理学院、华视传媒学院等8个二级学院；教职工800余人，全日制在校生10000余人。

学校遵照党和国家的教育方针，在教育部、北京市委市政府、北京市教委等各级教育主管部门的大力支持和悉心指导下，按照李书福董事长提出的“走进校园是为了更好地走向社会”的校训，积极探索人才培养新途径。学校确立了“培养具有国际视野并适应中国经济社会发展需要的应用型、创新型高级人才”的办学定位，探索实施“311就业导向教育模式”，不断深化以应用型人才培养为核心的内涵建设。

学校打造了一支近500名包括专兼职教授、副教授、高级工程师在内的优秀师资团队。一批中青年教师骨干脱颖而出。

学校以培养学生“表达交流、就业上岗、团队合作、批判思维和终生学习”五种能力为核心，初步构建了以三级教学督导为主体的教学质量保障体系，以职业岗位需求为标准的专业课程体系，以理论实践一体化为主体的教学形式。学校与吉利集团深度合作开展产教协同，吉利集团在前沿技术、双师型教师培养、实验实训设备、实习就业等方面给予学校大力支持；学校参与吉利集团“GM1000”技术类高级复合型人才培养。

学校初步探索构建了独具特色的素质教育课程体系, 实施“导师制”育人模式。学校建有国内高校颇具规模的大学生素质拓展训练基地，开设“小荷成长训练营”、“心理拓展”等独具特色的素质教育课程，陶冶学生心智、思维与行动，提升学生综合素质。“吉利大讲堂”、“校园文化艺术节”等校园文化品牌活动丰富多彩。
