重获新生
2005年7月22日，南京汽车集团有限公司成功收购了英国MG罗孚汽车公司及其发动机生产分部，开创了中国企业收购国外汽车企业的先河，收购合并之后的公司叫南京名爵汽车有限公司。新公司重新整合了原英国MG罗孚公司和南汽集团的资产与资源，将国际的工艺装备、研发设施、整车发动机制造技术、技术管理人才以及MG品牌集于一身。
2007年四月，上海汽车集团有限公司（上汽集团）收购了南京汽车集团，因此也成为了MG品牌的新主人。
现在的MG汽车陆续投产MG7系，MG6系，MG3系， MG TF跑车等系列车型，产品在中国国内和国际同时销售，中国市场的基地在南京，国际市场的基地在英国长桥（Longbridge）。

The new company has re integrated the assets and resources of the original MG Rover company in the UK and the Nanjing Automobile Group, integrating the international process equipment, R & D facilities, vehicle engine manufacturing technology, technical management personnel and Mg brand. In April 2007, Shanghai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (SAIC Group) acquired Nanjing Automobile Group, thus becoming the new owner of Mg brand. At present, Mg vehicles have been put into production successively, such as MG7 series, MG6 series, mg3 series, mgtf sports car series, etc. the products are sold at the same time at home and abroad in China, the base of Chinese market is in Nanjing, and the base of international market is in Longbridge, UK.
